Dr. Purnima Baranwal, MD FAAP
Dr. Baranwal graduated from Gandhi Medical College in Bhopal, India, and served her pediatric residency with one of the leading teaching hospitals in India. She became the chief resident based on academic performance. She managed several vaccine preventable diseases, including Chicken Pox, Diphtheria, Measles, Tuberculosis, and other communicable diseases.
Dr. Baranwal served a second pediatrics residency in New York, where she was again selected as the chief resident by faculty and peers. During her residency she focused on Social Determinants of Health.
Since 2007 Dr. Baranwal has been working in the Lowell/Chelmsford area, including 8 years at Lowell Community Health Center serving our diverse community and connecting with local community health resources.
Dr. Baranwal decided to open her own practice so she could focus more closely on working with her patients and their families and connecting families with community resources.
When not working in Cardinal Pediatrics, she likes to run/hike and cook with her children. She lives in a multigenerational family with her father, mother in law, husband, two children and a dog.
